Girls Trip is an American comedy about four best friends Ryan, Lisa, Dina, and Sasha a.k.a #FLossyPosse taking on great ventures in New Orleans at the Essence Festival. The ladies are prepared for an amazing weekend of uncensored fun and memories they will never forget some good, some bad, but throughout it all, they keep their posse strong. The lessons these women learn are lessons we all can relate to, as many of us have been in similar situations before. Below are four takeaway tips I found useful while watching Girls Trip.
KNOW YOUR WORTH
When dealing with Infidelity it is important to understand that you are worthy. Worthy of someone who will worship the ground you walk on and treat you accordingly. As women, we often minimize ourselves when we get caught up in love and forget our worth when we are mistreated. Know your worth and never ever forget it. You are a queen of many queens and no one should ever make you feel that you are anything less. Your worth is what snatched him up in the first place
NEVER BE AFRAID TO BE ALONE
If its meant to be it will be. Now I understand this is easier said than done, but it is super true. Sometimes we have to understand when it's time to say goodbye. There is nothing wrong with being alone when you are being mistreated in a relationship. You have to remind yourself of how powerful you were before that person entered your life. Being alone is a better opportunity for growth, growth within yourself, growth within your life, it's your time to focus on you. All the time invested in focusing the "we" this is the time for you to focus solely on the "me". Never being alone it could be that one chance for you to find who you are.
ITS OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY
Nobody's Perfect! Life is filled with many ups and downs. Whether it's romantic relationships, friendships, or life, in general, sometimes things are pretty darn hard each relationship has their equal highs and lows. If you ever happen to find yourself dealing with issues within any of your relationship never feel like you have to put on a front like everything is good. NO relationship is perfect and that is what makes us whole. Find at least one outlet you can open up to and gain advice from. Trust me it's way healthier than trying to carry the weight all by yourself.
RELATIONSHIPS MAY COME AND GO BUT FRIENDSHIPS ARE FOREVER
Friends are so valuable, so value your friendships! Friends are people you can depend on. When you are in a time of need they will always have your back. Often times women get so caught up in a relationship their romantic partner that they live through forgetting everyone else but never forget your friends. Those same women you call your friends will be there when you have tough times or the relationship falls through always remember that.
